In this meeting His Beatitude and Mrs. Igiri discussed issues concerning the Holy Land as a sacred land for the three monotheistic religions and the Holy City of Jerusalem as “the center of the world” meaning a religious, cultural and educational center in the Middle East as well as worldwide. On Tuesday, September 28th / October 11th 2011, the Bishop of Gioencu Arsenios of the Orthodox Church of Finland together with a small escort visited the Patriarchate and was accepted by His Holy Beatitude our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos.
In this meeting, His Beatitude welcomed them at the Zion Church, mother of Churches where the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles during the day of Pentecoste. From this Church originated all the established Orthodox Churches worldwide by the work of the Apostles the Disciples of Christ. (More…)
Jerusalem Patriarchate recognizing the great potential offered by the Worldwide Net as a means of bidirectional communication with the believers proceeded in 2006 under the personal attendance of His Holy Beatitude Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III to the foundation of the Official Website in the Network.
After many-months of altruistic as well as constant work and contribution of a) the General Manager of the Official Websites of the Patriarchate Dr. Christos Nikolaou b) Responsible for the gathering and editing of the website material Dr. Aikaterini Diamantopoulou, c) members of the Department of Medical Technology and Intelligence Computing Systems of the Department of Computer Engineering of Ioannina under Dimitris Photiadis, volunteers and special friends of the Patriarchate, the creation of the website was realized. http://www.jerusalem-patriarchate.info/. The Patriarchate of Jerusalem, the first Christian Church of the Holy Land, fostered through the centuries interfaith dialogue based on equality and mutual respect as well as supported the indiscriminate cohabitation and cooperation of the Jewish, the Christians and the Muslims.
Continuing Its conciliatory and peacekeeping mission, the Patriarchate condemns the actions of desecration, which have recently been done by an individual whose identity remains unknown to the detriment and damage of the Christian and Muslim Cemetery in Ioppe. (More…)
On Saturday September 25th /October 9th 2011 the Orthodox Theological School of Munich consisting of its students and several accompanying pilgrims led by His Grace Bishop Remezianis Andreas of the Serbian Patriarchate and the Bishop of Stuttgart Agapitos of the Russian church of Dispersion as well as the Professor of the Faculty Mr. Athanasios Vletsis, visited the Patriarchate.
The above mentioned had already been on an educational pilgrimage trip to the Holy Land since the feast of the Elevation of the Most Precious Cross on Tuesday September 14th/27th 2011 and sealed their pilgrimage tour and theory with their visit to His Beatitude our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos.
